Tenants can’t be evicted between December 13 and January 10, following a ruling from HM Courts and Tribunal.
Landlords can still book in urgent evictions by alerting a bailiff manager, though bailiffs have been told to only enforce evictions in the most serious circumstances.
The eviction truce applies in England but should be extended to the rest of the UK next week.
